South-East Women's Skills Days in London (Hyde Park)
Hello All,
Just wanted to drop a quick email as I have scheduled
two more women's skills/beginners practices to take
place in Hyde Park before Christmas. We had an
excellent practice despite high winds on Oct 30th and
want to continue to provide structure and coaching for
women who want to develop their game.
We ended up splitting into groups so that more
experienced players could focus on specific skills and
the beginners could learn about the basics. So really
anyone in the beginner/intermediate range can gain
from these sessions. In the new year we plan to offer
these sessions on a fortnightly basis.
Please pass these dates along to any of your ladies
who might be interested. They can send me their email
addresses and be added to the group list that gets
regular updates.
Sunday, 20th of November: 1:30 Hyde Park (southside
near the Albert Memorial)
Sunday, 4th of December: 1:30 " " "
Regards,
(Iceni #5)

Women's Coaching session hosted by Iceni in Hyde Park, London.
Oct 30th is open to all beginners in and around the London area. The idea has sprung from the fact Iceni has been contacted by plenty of beginners/new comers asking if they can join the team. As we were concentrating on Euros and Nationals prep, we found we didn't have much time to cater for these ladies towards the end of last season, but now we'd like to address that.
The intention is to run monthly beginners/new comer sessions to help coach women who don't quite feel up to joining the London women's clubs yet. So far we have had interest from ABH, PAF and Thundering Herd women. I'd love students to attend also. An e-mail list will be set up to help keep people informed and we may increase the frequency of these sessions (fort-nightly or even weekly) if they prove popular. For those lasses who have the dedication and ability, they will be invited to join Iceni weekly floodlit session at Battersea track which are aimed at intermediate and advanced players.

Women's Skills Day, October 15th, 2005
South-East Women's Skills Day hosted by Bliss and Iceni in London.
Well, the sun was shining, the rain held off, and I can't believe...that I'm sun burnt in October.... London skills day anybody?
This Saturday (15th) around 100 women from all over the south gathered on Clapham Common to learn from two of the great open women's teams this year; Iceni and Bliss. Skills were covered, shirts were muddied and games were played - fantastic!
For anyone who was there; handouts are available on the drills and skills covered. Contact Aura at backspin.co.uk (aura@) to get hold of a copy.
In addition, any feedback from the event itself would be much welcomed:
Any ideas for the future?
Events or tournaments in your area you'd like to see happen?
Skills you'd like us to cover next time? (Don't worry there will be a next time '06!)
All input welcome, email brunel.ac.uk - me01gmt@

Women's Skills Day London, March 12th 2005
Around 60 women from junior, university and open teams gathered on Clapham Common for a day of drills, skills and mud!
The local London team Iceni hosted a multitude of clinics to help develop skills such as; hucking, zone offence / defence, cutting, laying out.
The day ended with a few matches, giving the players a chance to test their newly practised skills.
Thanks to everybody who turned up, and a special BIG thankyou to Iceni for taking the time to share their knowledge with us all!
For more information on the next skills day, or for more information on the drills used, contact Gemma.
